Ravi D. Patel, M.D. is board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in complex vitreo retinal surgery and medical retinal conditions. He graduated summa cum laude from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with degrees in biology and business administration. Dr. Patel received his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC followed by an internship and ophthalmology residency at St. Vincent Catholic Medical Center in New York City, where he was named chief resident. At the University of Chicago, he completed an ophthalmology residency, as well as a vitreoretinal surgical fellowship.
An accomplished clinician, published author, researcher, and lecturer, Dr. Patel has been an investigator in national clinical trials studying new therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and retinal vein occlusion. He stays at the forefront of cutting-edge ophthalmic care and is committed to utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment in the treatment and management of eye disease.
Acknowledged by the American Society of Retina Specialists as one of the country’s Top 300 Retina Specialists, Dr. Patel is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
