Dr. Max D. Schlesinger is an ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal surgery. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY, followed by a fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He will be joining OCLI Vision, where he will continue to provide expert care in the medical and surgical management of retinal diseases.
Dr. Schlesinger earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Queens College of the City University of New York, where he graduated summa cum laude with highest honors and completed minors in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Schlesinger has served as an Assistant Professor and Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College, and as an Attending Physician in the Retina Service at Westchester Medical Center and Maimonides Medical Center. His research focuses on diabetic retinopathy, residency training, and surgical outcomes, with presentations at national conferences such as the American Society of Retina Specialists and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
Dr. Schlesinger is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, high-quality retinal care while contributing to advancements in ophthalmic education and research.
