Biography

Fellowship-trained Comprehensive Ophthalmologist. Dr. Silva specializes in cataract and glaucoma surgery and treatment, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, glaucoma drainage implants, and premium IOL placement. Dr. Silva completed most of his schooling and training in Venezuela before moving to France for a glaucoma fellowship. After practicing for a few years in Venezuela, Dr. Silva moved to New York and completed another fellowship at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Dr. Silva is fluent in English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese. He was the president of the Venezuelan Glaucoma group and has served as a scientific reviewer for the Brazilian Archives of Ophthalmology and Neuro Ophthalmology.
