David Sachs , MDDr. David Sachs is an Ophthalmologist specializing in sutureless cataract
surgery, LASIK, cornea transplant surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Sachs graduated Brown University with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. He
then received his medical degree, graduating in the top of his class from
Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. He completed his
transitional year at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA and then
ophthalmology residency at Nassau University Medical Center/Stony Brook
University where he served as chief resident. Dr. Sachs remained in Long
Island for a one year fellowship in Cornea and Refractive surgery. During his
fellowship Dr. Sachs specialized in cataract surgery, multi focal intra-ocular
lenses, cornea transplants, and the latest techniques in laser and refractive
surgery.
During his training Dr. Sachs was very active in ophthalmic research. His CV includes numerous article publications and three book chapters. He has also been involved in multiple prospective and experimental research trials. Dr. Sachs is currently a volunteer attending at Nassau University Medical Center where he helps train the ophthalmology residents. Dr. Sachs is a member of numerous professional societies including American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Sachs is an associate in Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, OCLI, consists of 21 eye specialists representing each subspecialty of ophthalmology in 6 locations throughout Long Island; in Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Stony Brook, Manhasset and East Meadow.
