Q: What are the symptoms of cataracts?

A: Generally, cataract symptoms may be so mild initially, that you may not even notice them. You may experience blurred vision, though symptoms generally worsen over time. A lot of people who do have symptoms notice a glare from oncoming headlights while driving at night. Reading may also be easier with more lighting for those who suffer from cataracts. As cataracts progress, you may notice double vision, or a yellow-tinge or change in how you view colors.

Cataracts usually develop as a result of the natural aging process, though they do appear in younger people too. Ultraviolet exposure, trauma, vitamin deficiencies and certain genetic conditions can also cause cataracts.
