OCLI Welcomes Dr. Bokkwan Jun, Neuro-ophthalmologist, to Our East Meadow, NY Office

April 1, 2019

OCLI, a Spectrum Vision Partners (“SVP”) managed practice, today announced the addition of Bokkwan Jun, MD, PhD, a specialist in laser cataract surgery and neuro/comprehensive ophthalmology. Beginning April 1, 2019, Dr. Jun will practice from OCLI’s East Meadow office, located at 30 Merrick Avenue, East Meadow, NY 11554.

Dr. Jun joins OCLI after serving as assistant professor of neuro-ophthalmology at Mason Eye Institute, University of Missouri Health System. Previously, he held the position of clinical fellow in the neuro-ophthalmology department at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD.

Before coming to the U.S., Dr. Jun earned his medical degree from the College of Medicine at Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea. Throughout his distinguished career, he has authored numerous book chapters and professional peer-reviewed journal articles, covering subjects ranging from thyroid eye disease, to corneal wounds, to bilateral vision loss.

“I’m excited about the prospect of working with a world-class ophthalmology organization,” explains Bokkwan Jun, MD, PhD. “The superior medical expertise of OCLI, backed by the solid management background of Spectrum Vision Partners, will allow me to provide exceptional care to my patients as I successfully grow my practice.”

OCLI is one of six managed practices to join. Since November 2017 Spectrum Vision Partners managed practices have added 23 eye doctors and ten locations have been added across six affiliates.

SVP administratively supports the growth and management of some of the leading ophthalmology practices and eye ambulatory surgery centers in the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut Tri-State area. In addition to OCLI, Spectrum managed practices include Island Eye Surgicenter, Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut (“OCC”), New Vision Cataract Center, Glaucoma Associates of Long Island, Precision Eye Care, and Huntington Eye Care.

In its first year of business, SVP has grown from 400 employees to a current total of more than 700. The organization recently relocated to new corporate offices to accommodate improved delivery of a complete range of business services to an expanding network of multi-specialty ophthalmologists.

Dr. Jun is part of the company’s aggressive growth plans. According to Spectrum CEO Tom Burke, “We are pleased to add yet another accomplished ophthalmologist to the OCLI practice hub. Dr. Jun’s experience in laser cataract surgery and neuro/comprehensive ophthalmology will further strengthen the breadth of OCLI’s expertise, giving patients expanded eye care options.

“As our network continues to grow, we hope to attract more clinicians of Dr. Jun’s caliber—those who recognize OCLI’s focus on excellence and its history of transparent business transactions, and who appreciate Spectrum’s proven ability to help them achieve their long-term goals.”
