Cataract Surgery. Unsure? Ask for a Second Opinion

February 1, 2017

It is normal to have questions surrounding what to do when you’ve been diagnosed with a cataract. Read more to learn about the different types of cataract surgery options available today.

You’ve been told you have a cataract. Now what?

You start hearing about different options for how you may see after the surgery and how the surgery can be performed. It can be a lot to take in. It is important to remember that you ultimately make the final decision. You get to decide if you are going to have the cataract surgery, what lens style that will be used to perhaps lessen the need for glasses and what method will be used for the surgery; traditional or laser.

Some things to consider before moving forward:

Trust your gut. If you are unsure about any aspect, you can get a second opinion from another cataract surgeon. It’s vitally important you trust the team you select, your surgeon, the staff and the facility they use. If all of these elements are in check, you will feel more confident and comfortable in moving forward.

If you wish to speak with a cataract specialist in the Long Island area including Queens, Nassau County, Suffolk County and more, contact OCLI today.
