Raymond E. Mariani, OD
Optometry
Dr. Raymond E. Mariani is an Optometrist who specializes in post-op refractions, contact lens fitting, double vision correction and post-operative, surgical care for OCLI. Dr. Mariani was educated in Manhattan at the State University of New York College of Optometry and received his doctorate in 1991.
He joined our group at OCLI following 11 years of private practice on Long Island specializing in primary care Optometry and contact lenses. Dr. Mariani then became clinical director of a large refractive surgery practice in Manhattan for 2 years. He did an optometric fellowship in retina at Ophthalmic Consultants of Connecticut and is an adjunct faculty member at the New England College of Optometry; teaching interns about primary care optometry and refractive surgery.
Dr. Mariani used his vast experience as an ophthalmic dispenser to write the curriculum for the fledgling ophthalmic dispensary program at Suffolk Community College, where he was an adjunct faculty member for a number of years.Dr. Mariani is Chief of the Optometry Clinic at the 106Th Medical Group and holds the rank of Major in the United States Air Force Air National Guard. He is a consultant on Aerospace Medicine and the evolution of refractive surgery for the Air Force flight crew.
Dr. Mariani is an associate of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, OCLI, consists of 23 doctors representing each subspecialty of ophthalmology in 7 locations throughout Long Island; in Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Stony Brook, Manhasset, East Meadow and Port Jefferson.
