Dr. Donnenfeld is recognized as one of the leading refractive surgeons in the United States. He is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist with more than 10 years of experience in laser vision correction including LASIK and PRK; twice as long as any other doctor on Long Island. Dr. Donnenfeld graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College. He received his Medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, graduating in the top five percent of his class. After completing his Ophthalmology Residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident, Dr. Donnenfeld completed a fellowship in disease, treatment, and surgery of the cornea at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Donnenfeld is a board certified ophthalmologist.
Dr. Donnenfeld has been President of many professional societies including the Nassau Surgical Society, the Ophthalmology Division of the Nassau Academy of Medicine and the Ocular Microbiology Group. He has written over 100 papers and books on refractive and corneal surgery and has lectured all over the world. Dr. Donnenfeld has performed laser surgical procedures on more than 250 eye doctors, and their families, around the United states and on more than 1500 physicians and their families. Dr. Donnenfeld has performed more laser vision correction procedures than any other physician in New York, making him one of the most experienced laser surgeons in the country.
Dr. Donnenfeld is a partner in Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, OCLI, consists of 23 doctors representing each subspecialty of ophthalmology in 7 locations throughout Long Island; in Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Stony Brook, Manhasset, East Meadow and Port Jefferson.
