It is with deep sadness and regret to inform you of the passing of Dr. Ken Carnevale. Known for his kindness, charisma and goodwill, Dr. Carnevale will be sorely missed by his patients and colleagues. Dr. Carnevale was a great family man who put his wife and children first. We not only grieve at the passing of a tremendous individual but also for the loss his family suffers. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Dr. Carnevale was a Partner and board certified ophthalmologist who was fellowship trained in Medical and Surgical Diseases of the Retina, Vitreous and Macula with Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI). He was an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan and practiced in OCLI’s East Setauket, Lynbrook and Rockville Centre offices.
Dr. Carnevale graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the New Jersey School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed an internship at the multi-specialty Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts and his Ophthalmology Residency at The New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center.
While in his Chief year of residency, Dr. Carnevale received the prestigious "Outstanding House-Officer" award for his skill and caring in ophthalmic surgery. During his training in vitreoretinal surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Carnevale participated in several clinical trials for macular degeneration. These studies will lead to new innovations in the treatment of this blinding disorder.
Dr. Carnevale was a board certified member of numerous medical societies which include the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, New York State Ophthalmology Society and the Nassau County Medical Society.
